Product Introduction:
HEER-1001 series products are the most advanced Ethernet media converters for automotive Ethernet applications. Using the HEER-1001 series Ethernet converter, the 100/1000BASE-T1 automotive Ethernet can be converted into a 100BASE-TX/1000BASE-T traditional Ethernet, and connected to the PC for debugging or testing.HEER-1001 series products use metal shells to resist interference, are small and light, and can be directly placed in a laptop bag for easy portability.HEER-1001 series products can easily realize the interaction between PC and 100/1000BASE-T1 DCU as a Media Converter. The converter can simulate nodes or perform direct diagnosis.

HANREER's products are designed for operation in automotive systems and for supply voltages of a nominal 12 V or 24 V. The applicable voltage range complies with the standard specifications of 12V or 24V automotive power system.

Should HANREER's products be operated in voltage ranges beyond those specified in the norms, which represents a breach of the conditions of operation, then this will void the product warranty and HANREER will assume no liability whatsoever for the results and/or consequences thereof.

This is especially valid whenever the voltage level reaches or exceeds the limits of the low-voltage directive. In this case, damage to the devices cannot be excluded. Due to the manufacturing characteristics of the devices, there is no imminent fire hazard from the device itself, if the devices are being operated in an environment according to the conditions of use. Should those conditions not be met, a secondary fire hazard cannot be excluded. Protection against overvoltage cannot be provided in such a breach of the conditions of use.

Product Features:

• Adopt Marvell 100/1000BASE automotive Ethernet dedicated chip, compatible with Broadcom, Marvell, TI, and other brands of automotive Ethernet PHY for communication;
• Power supply design: DC/Micro USB dual power supply design, which can be used for automotive 12V and 24V power systems;
• Support the Debug interface to interact with the device and read the PHY register value;
• 100BASE-T1 and 1000BASE-T1 switching supports powered state modification without power failure or reset;

• Automatic master/slave detection function, which can automatically adjust to the corresponding mode according to the target device.
• Supporting Legacy mode of T1, used for intercommunication with devices of earlier versions of Marvell;
• Various interface types are available (Tyco MATENET, Rosenberger H-MTD).
• Confirmation of connection status and data transmission status by means of LED indicators;
• The device supports automatic polarity correction of the T1.
• Supports the Precision Clock Synchronization Protocol standard (PTP) for networked measurement and control systems;
• Supports Frame Generator mode on the T1 to send test frames to the DCU through T1.

The 1000BASE-T1 Media Converter can be configured by 6 DIP switches on the front side of the device.

For establishing a BASE-T1 link, one device must be set as Master and the other must be set as Slave.Ports with two different speeds cannot be mixed. If the Media Converter is configured for 100BASE-T1, the RJ-45 connector is always 100BASE-TX. If the Media Converter is configured for 1000BASE-T1 the RJ-45 connector is always 1000BASE-T.

• DIP Switch 1: AUTO mode.Auto mode is off, when DIP switch is OFF [up]. Auto mode is on, when DIP switch is ON [down]. The converter can automatically adapt to the master/slave mode of the DUT without the need to set DIP Switch 2 and DIP Switch 3;

• DIP Switch 2: 100/1000 speed setting is dependent on the speed of the DUT. If it is a 100BASE- T1 connection, DIP Switch 2 must be OFF [up] and vice versa;

• DIP Switch 3: The Master/Slave setting is dependent on the DUT. If DUT is Master, MC must be configured as Slave, DIP Switch 3 must be OFF [up] and vice versa;

• DIP Switch 4: Legacy/IEEE mode setting: If the PHY of the DUT is Marvell PHY A0 (Only 1000BASE-T1), DIP Switch 4 must be ON [down]. If it is any other IEEE 1000BASE-T1 conform PHY the DIP Switch must be OFF [up]. (See Chapter 5.1)

• DIP Switch 5: Test mode (Frame Generator). Only in Frame Generator must DIP Switch be ON (down);

• DIP Switch 6: SFP mode. Only HEER-1002 has this function
